Dr. Richard O’Leary
Licensed Clinical Psychologist
I joined the Center for Grief and Trauma Therapy because I have a lifetime desire to help clients discover their strengths, heal, make peace with their past, and develop a passion for their journey into the future. I believe in people’s capacity to heal and develop resilience. Each of us has the potential to begin anew, deepening the foundation and developing the skills needed to have a better and brighter future.
I am a licensed clinical psychologist that specializes in supporting clients cope with death, loss, and post-traumatic stress. I have worked in the field of mental health for 40 years in a variety of settings ranging from college counseling, addiction, residential, and private practice outpatient mental health. I worked as a clinical psychologist in the US Air Force, retiring after 25 years as a Lieutenant colonel. I have an emerging specialty in helping people discover meaning and belonging in third phase of life. I value an approach that includes mind body and spirit. I have been blessed to work with many cultures worldwide and meet each person with a heart of inclusion and respect for their life journey.
